Spring is in the air and it is time again for the annual MAYFEST on Main Street in downtown Rutherfordton. This year Rutherfordton is really stepping things up and encouraging both residents and visitors to join them for a weekend of celebration.

Come and enjoy spring by attending one of the oldest festivals in Western North Carolina, Mayfest in downtown Rutherfordton!
The morning kicks off with the Gears and Gables ride to benefit Rutherford Housing Partnership, a local nonprofit that helps make much needed repairs to the homes of low-income families. The race starts at 8:00 am and provides both recreational and professional cyclists with a 24-mile, 49-mile and 62-mile option. Next, Mayfest takes over the streets of downtown Rutherfordton with your favorite festival food, local craft brews, climbing walls, inflatables, balloon artist, face painting and more. Artists and craftsmen showcase their unique, one-of-a-kind merchandise while live music, dance performances, flavorful scents and children’s giggles fill the air. The 2nd annual Car Show will take place and rewarded with trophies to those who feel the need for speed. Our local Boy Scouts will host…
